Stoneworld is a family-run business based in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, with over 20 years of industry expertise. We specialise in sourcing, machining and crafting exceptional natural stone products for residential, commercial, landscaping and architectural projects.
At our specialist stone masonry workshop, our experienced team combines traditional craftsmanship with modern CNC technology to manufacture everything from bespoke paving and architectural stonework through to complex sculptural pieces.
We are looking for a practical, reliable and detail-focused individual to join our workshop team. Previous experience is welcomed and, for the right candidate, the role can provide the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and make full use of existing stone masonry, CNC, engineering or manufacturing skills.
For someone early in their career, the position also provides an excellent opportunity to learn from an experienced team and develop valuable practical and technical skills.
Main responsibilities
· Operating CNC machinery, including Waterjet and 5-axis saws, subject to experience and training.
· Using hand and power tools for stone fabrication and finishing.
· Producing bespoke stone products for residential and commercial projects.
· Working accurately from drawings, job specifications and production information.
· Checking completed work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
· Safely handling and moving stone and materials around the workshop.
· Maintaining a clean, organised and productive working environment.
· Following workshop health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills and experience
· Previous experience in stone masonry, CNC machining, fabrication, engineering or manufacturing is desirable, but not essential.
· Forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
· Previous experience operating CNC machinery would be advantageous.
· Good practical skills and confidence using tools and machinery.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
· A positive attitude towards learning and developing new skills.
· Ability to work safely and responsibly within a busy workshop environment.
Hours and salary
Hours are 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime is available.
Salary starts from £30,000 per annum and will depend on the successful candidate's experience, technical knowledge and skill level.
Work location
This is a full-time, workshop-based position in Great Milton, Oxfordshire. There is no opportunity for remote working.
We are located in a rural area approximately 8.5 miles from Thame and 13 miles from Oxford. As we are not served by a suitable public transport route, applicants will need to be able to reliably travel to and from the workshop.
