Role Overview
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on site services equipment, ensuring the continuous operation of essential utilities across the site.
- Maintain and repair plant services including boilers, compressors, refrigeration systems, HVAC, water treatment, steam systems, effluent plant, and other utility equipment.
- Ensure all site services equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct routine inspections, fault finding, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise reliability.
- Support site infrastructure projects, statutory compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the Engineering Team and report directly to the Engineering Manager to ensure uninterrupted site operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS and contribute to improving asset reliability and energy efficiency.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and motivated engineer with a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, who is passionate about maintaining critical site utilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You'll ideally have experience maintaining site services equipment such as boilers, compressors, refrigeration, HVAC, steam, water treatment or other utility systems within a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on site services equipment.
- Demonstrate strong fault-finding, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Have a solid understanding of Health & Safety, environmental and statutory compliance requirements relating to utilities.
- Be comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.
- Possess excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Be eager to develop their technical knowledge and support the wider engineering function to deliver reliable site services.
