Job title: 4 on 4 off Transport Operator
Location: Barugh Green, Barnsley, S75 1LR

Hours: 48 hours every 8 days

About the role
We’re looking for a Transport Operator to join our team and help deliver safe, efficient and compliant transport plans across our operations. You’ll be responsible for answering the phone to both drivers & customers, relaying information to the planning team and supporting the plan over the weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently, factoring in capacity, time windows, and legal compliance
- Monitor live operations and respond quickly to disruptions (delays, breakdowns, changes in demand)
- Liaise with drivers and customers to ensure smooth execution of the plan
- Maintain accurate planning data, paperwork, and system records
- Support continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and improve service
- Speaking with drivers on a daily basis
- Working with our customers to provide the best service
What we’re looking for
- Confident communicator—able to coordinate multiple stakeholders clearly and calmly
- Good working knowledge of transport compliance and operational constraints
- A team player
- Comfortable using TMS/planning software and Excel
- A proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and customer service.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
