Fabric Cutter/CNC operator
We are looking for a reliable and practical Fabric Cutter / CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team
The role involves operating a CNC fabric cutting machine to cut industrial fabrics used in the manufacture of filter bags. You will be responsible for preparing materials, selecting the correct cutting programme and ensuring that cut parts are organised and ready for the sewing team
Previous experience of CNC cutting equipment or working with industrial fabrics would be beneficial, although full training can be provided to the right candidate
Main Duties:
- Operating a CNC fabric cutting machine
- Using a PC to select, load and start the correct cutting programme
- Loading rolls of material safely onto the carousel
- Identifying and selecting the correct material type for each job
- Checking job sheets and cutting instructions before starting production
- Monitoring the cutting process and reporting any faults or issues
- Removing cut parts from the machine
- Folding, sorting and organising cut parts ready to be sewn
- Keeping materials clearly identified to avoid errors or mix-ups
- Cleaning and tidying the cutting machine and surrounding work area
- Carrying out basic daily machine checks
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Supporting the wider production team when required
Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will:
- Be confident using a PC and basic computer programmes
- Have good attention to detail
- Be able to identify and distinguish between different types of material
- Be organised and able to follow written job instructions accurately
- Be comfortable working with machinery
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a practical, hands on approach to work
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Be able to safely handle and move rolls of fabric and finished cut parts
Experience in fabric cutting, textiles, CNC machinery, manufacturing or industrial sewing environments would be an advantage but is not essential
Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm with 30 minute lunch, we can offer alternative shift patterns within Monday to Thursday 6am - 5pm & Friday 6am - 2.30pm (30 hours minimum is required, maximum of 39 hours per week)
