Blue Light Card. Individually great, together unstoppable
The Role and the Team
The Finance team at Blue Light Card is investing in the tools, processes and people needed to support the business as it scales, and this Accounts Receivable Specialist sits right at the heart of that work.
Reporting to the Ledger Manager, you’ll be joining our growing team for an initial six-month fixed-term contract providing experienced, hands-on AR support across reconciliations, cash and receipt management, and debt recovery, and supporting the wider team with process improvement and automation. It's a role with genuine scope to contribute ideas, work across teams including FP&A, Data, Partnerships and Member Operations, and make a lasting difference to the way the function operates.
What You'll Do
- Deliver period-end reconciliations across shopping card, cinema and affiliate revenue streams, ensuring accuracy, completeness and strong financial controls throughout.
- Investigate discrepancies across affiliate platforms and Business Central, identifying root causes and recommending practical resolutions where multiple factors are at play.
- Manage cashbook postings, receipt allocation and Business Central approvals, applying judgement to identify and resolve anomalies before processing.
- Oversee debt recovery activities, adapting collection approaches to reflect commercial context and financial risk, and escalating complex or sensitive accounts with clear rationale.
- Produce AR reporting and commentary that surfaces key trends, risks and outstanding issues, supporting informed decision-making across the team.
- Build collaborative relationships with Finance, Member Services, Partnerships and external partners to resolve queries and maintain effective day-to-day delivery.
- Identify and recommend improvements to reconciliation and AR processes, contributing to changes that strengthen controls, improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
What You'll Bring
- Solid, hands-on experience within an Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger environment, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and work with a good degree of independence.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and XLOOKUPs used comfortably in day-to-day work, alongside familiarity with finance systems.
- A track record of investigating complex variances and discrepancies, applying sound judgement to determine the right course of action rather than waiting to be directed.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trusted working relationships across teams and influence stakeholders to reach the best outcome.
- A proactive, improvement-focused approach, with genuine interest in identifying better ways of working and contributing ideas that make a practical difference.
- Experience across both B2B and retail or ecommerce environments is desirable but not essential; experience with Dynamics 365 / Business Central and curiosity about AI and automation as tools for improvement would also be a welcome addition.

Our mission is simple: make heroes happy. Our members are real-life heroes who keep us all safe, cared for, and thriving. It's what gets us up in the morning, what makes us want to think bigger, and create something that truly matters. We don't just follow the usual path - we look for smarter, bolder ways to deliver real impact. We take ownership, move fast, and work shoulder to shoulder to build something special.
We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices – either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office. The frequency and office location will vary depending on the role and team. We aim to be flexible, but we aren't able to offer fully remote working.

We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different perspectives and experiences help us grow, innovate, and better reflect the communities we serve. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills.
