Oaktree Support Services is looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Support Workers to join our team supporting young adults in a small residential home setting care.
The Young Adults within our care having varying complex high activity needs, including mental health, learning disabilities, ASD healthcare-led needs.
In this rewarding role, you’ll provide person-centred care and support, empowering people to live the lives they choose. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll help young adults build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging in their communities.
Your work will be guided by each individual’s support plan, and you’ll play a vital role in promoting inclusion, equality, and respect in everything you do.
We’re especially interested in applicants with experience in social care or support work, but above all, we value compassion, empathy, and a commitment to person-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual care plans
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice for the people you support
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions.
- Document care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Encourage community participation and inclusion
- Support people to achieve their personal goals and aspirations
- Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and professionals
- Follow all Oaktree policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Ability to work flexible shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends
Essential skills and experience:
- Experience in mental health care, and/or young adults in a social care setting is preferred
- A genuine passion for helping others
- A positive, “can-do” attitude and imaginative approach to challenges
- Ability to see the person first
- Confidence to raise concerns and uphold high standards of care
- Honesty, reliability, and integrity
- Willingness to learn, develop, and maintain professional boundaries
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in health or social care are desirable
- All roles are subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references.
