The University of Cambridge Careers Service is seeking to appoint a Careers Consultant on a 10 month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. Primarily responsible for providing careers education, advice and guidance to PhD candidates and Postdoctoral Research staff. This role would be particularly suitable for candidates with an understanding of the career challenges faced by early career researchers (within and beyond academia).
They will also contribute to the programme of activity supporting students at all levels. The role will also take over the stakeholder management of Departments (within Clinical Medicine and Biological Science disciplines) and Colleges that the current role holder is responsible for. Providing the expertise, experience and tools to help shape delivery for local activities designed to support individuals' career development. The ideal candidate will be fascinated by the evolving Labour Market, experienced with digital delivery, and an excellent communicator capable of building and sustaining relationships across the Collegiate University and beyond. Previous experience of careers work in a Higher Education setting, experience of graduate recruitment or similar professional experience is essential.
