Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles to transport goods efficiently across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trailers, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring secure fastening on flatbed trailers for safe transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimize fuel usage
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery status and any issues encountered
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients and team members
- Must be able to spend 5 nights out if / when required
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed transportation and delivery routes
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) certification
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and best driving practices
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds and performing vehicle inspections
- Good communication skills for clear interaction with team members and clients
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable
