Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to be based within the Fareham Operations Centre Quality Engineering Team, where you will play a key role in driving quality excellence, supporting the Quality Engineering Manager, and leading RCCA activities. The role will ensure customer and supplier quality investigations are managed effectively and on time, while supporting the closure of internal and third-party audit findings.
The Quality Engineer will also support QC inspection activities to ensure product and process conformity, reviewing inspection results and coordinating corrective actions where needed. This is an exciting opportunity to champion Zero Defects, strengthen BMS improvement, and make a real impact in line with internal and external customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Review and produce product FAIRs, PPAPs and control plans and present to customers as required

Identify and lead improvement projects and investigations across the business with multifunctional teams, monitoring KPIs such as yield, cost of quality, DPPM, warranty and Out Of Box returns and meeting turnaround times for SLAs such as MRB processing

Be customer facing in the management of quality activities for applicable key customers

Support internal & external audits and liaise with the Quality Systems Team to address actions raised by 3rd party certification bodies (CAA, BSI) and customers

Monitor and manage supplier performance through surveillance and improvement activities by the use of appropriate quality tools

Supporting QC (inspection) activities, including Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements to define appropriate inspection criteria
Essential skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for this position
-
5+Aerospace, Automotive or Engineering Industry, including minimum of 2 years in Aerospace
- Experience of auditing to AS9100, Part 21 sub part G and Part 145 (Lead auditor desirable)

Ability to lead internal audits, participate in external audits and host nominated visiting quality assurance representatives

Experience of compiling and reviewing FAIRs to AS9102

Familiarity with quality improvement tools

An understanding of PPAP and the supporting element of this process

Ability to develop creative new product solutions to complex problems

Experience of Value-Added production process and committed to continuous improvement

Strong decision-making skills

Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills with excellent attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to maintain and compile clear, accurate records and prepare technical reports
