We are seeking to appoint a clinical advisor for beds and pressure relieving / redistributing equipment. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, well organised and work within an extremely fast paced environment.
This post is for 8 and a half hours per week, (working pattern open to discussion) and would ideally suit an Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse.

To provide a single point of access for the authorisation of beds and pressure area care equipment via ICES. To be a resource on matters related to beds and pressure area care equipment for ICES commissioners, contract managers and provider, and for clinicians and prescribers using ICES.
You may be required, as part of the role, to deliver training on care equipment to CPFT community nurses and carry out home visits where necessary, for example to fit a tilting device.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as your ability to work well within a team, although some independent working is anticipated using own initiative and judgement, maintaining effective relationships and personal resilience to manage under pressure and in challenging situations where conflict may arise.
The post holder will need to have good problem solving skills, be creative and innovative in approach, identifying and anticipating any issues that may arise, working closely with colleagues to help find solutions to problems that can arise in the management of bed mattresses.

- To provide a single point of contact for all ICES prescribers regarding advice and authorisation of the prescription of profiling beds and pressure area care equipment in line with local criteria and protocols.
- Oversee the rota for the single point of access for senior practitioners assigned to the authorising role for beds and pressure area care equipment
- To provide leadership to Clinicians and Prescribers across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and out of area when indicated, with regard to the correct prescription of profiling beds and pressure area care equipment prescribed from the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES).
- To act as a resource for all ICES prescribers in relation to the prescription of beds and pressure area care equipment so that clinical standards and guidelines are embedded in practice.
- Promote better knowledge and understanding on the use of equipment in the prevention and management of pressure ulcers.
- To work with ICES Masterclasses and CPFT TVN team to advise on the development and implementation of training packages to promote the correct prescription of equipment for the prevention and management of pressure ulcers in line with national and local criteria, policies and protocols.
- To be an active member of the ICES Masterclass programme delivering training sessions in relation to the prescription of equipment.
- To evidence best practice with regard to the provision of profiling beds and pressure area care equipment, keeping self up to date on new products and present options to commissioners with regard to potential for improved clinical effectiveness and best value.
- To work with all relevant stakeholders as part of the review of equipment on the ICES catalogue to ensure it remains appropriate to best meet clinical need and offers best value to ICES commissioners.
- To represent clinical services at ICES meetings, when required.
- Ensure clinical product and service knowledge is kept up to date by attendance at conferences and exhibitions.
