Full-Time Sous Chef / Bar Assistant (when required)

About the Role
Sherborne Golf Club is a thriving private members' golf club with over 700 members and a busy calendar of visitors, societies and events. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sous Chef to join our catering team.
Working alongside our Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality food from our breakfast and lunch menus, assist with larger functions and events, and support the smooth running of the kitchen. When required, you will also provide assistance behind the bar to help ensure excellent service across the clubhouse.

Main Duties
· Assist the Head Chef with the preparation and service of breakfast and lunch menus.
· Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard.
· Assist with society days, private functions and club events.
· Help with menu preparation and food presentation.
· Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
· Assist with stock control, deliveries and ordering.
· Ensure the kitchen, food preparation and storage areas remain clean and organised.
· Work behind the clubhouse bar when required, serving drinks and providing excellent customer service.
· Support colleagues across the clubhouse to ensure a smooth operation.
Working Hours
This is a 40-hour per week position.
Working hours will vary depending on the club diary and seasonal business levels. Some evening and weekend work will be required for events, competitions and functions. Overtime may be available during busy periods.
What We're Looking For
· Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
· A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to help across departments.
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work calmly under pressure.
· Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
· Food Hygiene qualification desirable (training can be provided).
· Experience in bar work is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.
