Job Overview
A well-established family-owned business we are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester Class 4 & 7 / Technician to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards. Duties
- Conduct MOT tests on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, identifying faults and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs, adjustments, or replacements as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and repairs carried out, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the testing bay and workshop are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Support other team members with general vehicle servicing tasks as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an automotive technician and MOT tester.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, and emissions.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, handling vehicle parts or equipment safely.
- Quality focused.
Immediate Start would be desirable. Previous experience working in a busy workshop environment is preferred but not mandatory.
