Job Description
To support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day delivery of a high-quality domiciliary care service, ensuring clients receive safe, effective, and person-centred care. The Deputy Care Manager will provide leadership to care staff, monitor service quality, support compliance activities, and help maintain excellent standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the daily operation of the service.
- Ensure care is delivered in accordance with CQC standards, the Care Act, safeguarding requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct client assessments, care plan reviews, risk assessments, and spot checks.
- Monitor care quality and ensure care plans remain accurate and up to date.
- Supervise, support, and develop Caregivers and Senior Caregivers through regular supervision and performance reviews.
- Assist with staff induction, training, and ongoing development.
- Investigate and respond to concerns, incidents, complaints, and safeguarding matters appropriately.
- Complete audits and quality assurance checks, supporting continuous improvement across the service.
- Build positive relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide operational support as required.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in domiciliary care, senior care, care coordination, or a supervisory/management role.
- Good knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
- Experience completing care assessments, care plans, and risk assessments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to support and motivate care teams to deliver outstanding care.
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (minimum).
- Working towards or willing to undertake a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
