We are currently recruiting for a Higher-Level Apprentice in Business to join our Order Scheduling team in at our facility located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.
Successful applicants will ‘earn as they learn’ and benefit from a blend of on-the-job development, guided by a well-established team of Order Scheduling Specialists, along with day release to attend college/university to complete their qualification.
About the Role
This position will provide experience of the business environment (local and global), business strategy, business processes, planning processes, business systems, project work, data analysis and statistics and an overview of relevant financial transactions, along with the opportunity to develop problem solving, planning and organisational skills, team working, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful applicant will work in a team responsible for Order Scheduling, gaining experience in the order lifecycle, from order entry and processing to coordination with production and logistics, scheduling production and optimizing filling of production slots while managing internal and external constraints.
In addition, this team supports Dealers, Sales & Affiliate contacts, maintaining exceptional business relationships between Order Management, New Product Development/Special Product Engineering Design team, manufacturing, and Dealer/Major Account network along with providing exceptional customer service to our Major Accounts and Dealers; offering solutions and assisting with order specification changes, administrative changes, and scheduling.
This team also works with other HYMH plants and theatres to manage slotting, availability, and best possible lead times of globally built product.
Key Responsibilities within the team include:
- Order scheduling and slotting of orders placed by HYMH dealers, Major Accounts, and Affiliates, maintaining full production schedule, balancing product lead times and working to avoid delays in expected delivery schedules.
- Providing direction to HYMH affiliates and other business partners related to the slotting of division orders in overseas manufacturing facilities, working to enhance and improve flexibility to drive additional sales opportunities whether through reduced lead times, increased product availability etc.
- Change Order Management - processing order change requests, processing return requests, working with planning and manufacturing to process order change requests in our order configuration and order management systems to ensure part availability to maintain manufacturing production schedule.
- Providing quick resolutions and solving problems for dealers/customers to meet and exceed customer expectations, to increase sales and allow brand/dealer personnel to focus on sales efforts.
- Work with other plants to track priority and delayed units and provide feedback to our sales, dealers, and customer contacts.
- Participate in special projects as assigned and provide input to other areas of Order Management to assist in personal growth and development.
Applicants must clearly specify on their application that they meet the following Essential criteria:
- Have applied (and in due course, successfully obtain an offer) for a Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Business, Business Studies, Business Management or similar, at a college/university, starting September 2026;
- Possess a minimum grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent);
- Hold 2 x GCE ‘A’ Level passes or an equivalent relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), by August 2026;
- Have at least basic I.T. skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams);
- Demonstrate a keen interest in business activities, use of initiative, problem solving, planning and organisational skills, data analysis skills, team working, effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Enjoy a practical approach to learning and development;
- (A relevant Level 6 Higher Level Apprenticeship/Degree Apprenticeship in Business, Business Studies, Business Management or similar will also be considered).
