Job Summary
Founded in 2021, we are a rapidly growing company in the Energy Efficiency sector, delivering retrofit solutions into communities across the UK to improve the energy efficiency of homes.
Based on Phoenix Park near Nottingham, we are looking for a Roofer with experience installing Solar PV to join our team.
We are MCS accredited and currently deliver Solar PV and battery storage installations through subcontracted supply chain. You will be part of our new internal installations team. Completing Solar PV and batteries installs as part of domestic energy efficiency retrofit schemes.
This is a site-based role, and you will be working across all of our sites. Our sites are generally within a 2-hour radius of our Nottingham office.
The ideal candidate will have strong roof installation skills with experience to share with others and bring to the solar team. The role requires someone who is forward thinking and someone who can work as part of a team while dealing with customers and clients in a professional manner. You will be highly focused on compliance and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on small domestic pitched roofs installing solar on a variety of tiles Including slate.
Responsibilities
· Install roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential properties in compliance with Microgeneration Certification Standards (MCS)
· Fit roof anchors, rails, flashing, brackets, and other support structures in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
· Read and interpret technical drawings and installation plan.
· Collaborate with electricians and other installation team members to ensure efficient project completion.
· Inspect roofs and identify any repairs required prior to installation
· Comply with all health and safety legislation, including working at height regulations and site-specific risk assessments.
· Use hand and power tools safely and maintain them in good working order.
· Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
· Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards throughout the installation process managing materials and waste at a project (property) level
· Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.
· Complete installation documentation, site reports, and photographic records as required.
· Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives while on site.
· Report any site issues, safety concerns, or technical problems promptly to supervisors.
· Attend training to maintain knowledge of new products, installation techniques, and safety requirements.
Essential SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience working with a variety of roofing materials, including concrete tiles, clay tiles, slate and composite slate.
· Ability to identify roofing defects and recommend appropriate remedial work.
· Minimum of 3 years' experience installing and repairing domestic pitched roofs.
· Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
· Experience installing solar PV mounting systems.
· Working at Heights certification.
· Full UK driving licence.
· A DBS check will be required.
Desirable SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
· Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations
· Experience working on domestic properties
· CSCS Card. One can be provided
· Familiarity with electrical systems
