Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner for our bakery during evening hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the bakery environment. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and overall quality of our premises, contributing to a pleasant and safe working environment for all staff and customers. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of bakery surfaces, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, workstations, and storage areas using appropriate cleaning tools and products
- Dispose of waste materials responsibly and ensure bins are emptied regularly
- Restock cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard during evening shifts
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols is desirable
- Attention to detail and organisational skills are essential to maintain consistent cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently during evening hours with minimal supervision
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
