We are now seeking for a skilled Surface Mount Production Operative to join our Team on the SMT line in Huntington, York. Working Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm
Friday 8am-4pm (Friday working is essential)
Totalling 37.75 hours per week
Hours can be negotiated.
Duties:
- Assist with the following tasks:
- Ensure equipment warm up (prior to start of shift)
- Daily checking ERP software dashboard for priorities and highlight problems
- Stencil and material checks
- Solder paste and screening of PCB’s
- Programming / set-up / operation / maintenance of surface mount machines
- Visual inspection of PCBA's to IPC-610 standards using automated optical inspection (AOI)
- Complete production documentation as required
- Ensure SMT department is kept clean and tidy
- Ensure minimal waste of material through efficient handling of components.
- Maximisation of efficiency regarding parts, packages, feeders and programs – feedback to Team Leader
About you:
- Ability to operate, at pace, to a high degree of accuracy and diligence is essential
- Ability to liaise with SMT Team Leader on work order dates and priorities
- Be forthcoming with ideas and continuous improvement
- Work with high dexterity and attention to detail
- Ensure compliance with company rules and requirements
- Be understanding and flexible with the constant changes to customer demands
- Support the company ethos
- Any other reasonable tasks beneficial to the business
Qualifications:
IPC-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 preferable but not essential, however certification must be passed once full training has been given.
Previous experience in electronics is desirable, but full training will be provided.
Those from an industry with transferable skills such as a machine operator, jewellery making or work involving a high attention to detail will also be considered.
