Administrator (Part Time) – Office Based (Heathfield)
Salary: £14.50 per hour
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and organised Part Time Administrator to join our office based in Heathfield.
This is an office based role supporting the day to day operations of a busy roofing contractor working across domestic, commercial and public sector projects. The role involves acting as a key point of contact for customers and ensuring incoming enquiries are handled efficiently and professionally.
Sherwood Roofing Contractors is a long established roofing company delivering reactive and planned works across domestic, commercial and public sector properties throughout the South East. Alongside our roofing works we also operate a scaffolding division, and the business will soon be expanding further into decorating and general building services.
As a result, the role involves monitoring enquiries across multiple company email inboxes covering these different areas of the business.
We are a small, friendly team and are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a supportive office environment while helping ensure the business runs smoothly.
Hours
Monday to Friday
09:30 – 14:30
Negotiable hours - can be changed to suit any existing responsibilities.
25 hours per week
Responsibilities
Monitor and manage multiple company email inboxes, ensuring enquiries are acknowledged, tracked and passed to the appropriate colleagues promptly.
Answer incoming phone calls and act as a friendly and professional first point of contact for customers and suppliers.
Type documents including estimates, reports and general correspondence.
Input data into our systems and maintain organised and accurate records.
Liaise with planners to schedule quote visits for incoming domestic enquiries.
Print, scan and fold architect drawings and other documents.
Support colleagues with general administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
Previous administrative experience essential.
Strong computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Excel and general office systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Friendly and professional manner with customers.
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to use initiative when managing enquiries, prioritising emails and keeping track of tasks.
Ability to confidently assess incoming enquiries and decide the appropriate action, whether responding directly, prioritising, or directing them to the correct colleague.
Comfortable with routine administrative work and maintaining organised records.
Comfortable working in a small team environment where colleagues support each other.
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining consistent attendance.
