Goods in/Despatch Operative - Afters
Flavours Foods is a food manufacturing business providing the food to go, wholesale and catering markets with high quality chilled products such as sandwich fillers, salads and marinated meats
As a Goods/Despatch Operative you will be responsible for stock rotation, stock replenishment, handling finished products & cleaning of warehouse.
Job Description:
- Undertake the receipt, storage and distribution of material
- Picking / Packing /dispatch of completed products
- Loading / Unloading vehicles both by hand and using an FLT
- Manual handling of product
- Stock Rotation (FIFO)
- Willing to work in other areas when needed or instructed
- Use of internal computerised traceability system
- Participate in stock counts
- Secure orders for transport
- Liaising with despatch courier drivers
- Ensure all relevant records and paperwork are maintained accurately
- Room temperature monitoring
- Metal Detection checks
- Ensuring product safety & quality is kept up to the standard
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Following Health & Safety rules
- Once trained ability to work under minimal instruction
- Working in most effective and efficient way possible
- Goods in / Despatch housekeeping, ‘Clean as you go’ policy followed
- Handover at the end of the shift
Skills & Experience required:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, Despatch or fast pace business
- Knowledge of stock control
- Key understanding of chilled food safety procedures
- Key understanding of HACCP and BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
- Good communication skills, team player, ability to work individually when needed
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
- Very good attention to detail
- Being able to work unsupervised
- Basic literacy, numeracy and computer skills
- FLT and driving license advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality and speed
