We are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Engineering to join our Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver both practical and theoretical engineering teaching across a range of disciplines, including electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, to a diverse range of learners, including Apprentices, Full-Time students and T Level learners.
You'll play a key role in developing the next generation of skilled engineering professionals through engaging, industry-focused education.
About the Role

Deliver high-quality practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory lessons.
- Teach and support Apprentices, Full-Time learners and T Level students.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities that inspire and challenge learners.
- Monitor learner progress and provide effective academic and pastoral support.
- Use innovative teaching methods and industry-standard practices to enhance learning.
- Work closely with colleagues, employers and industry partners to ensure a relevant and engaging curriculum.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Support learners to achieve successful outcomes and progress into further study or employment.
What We're Looking For
Essential

Degree-level qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong industry knowledge and experience within the electrical and electronics sector.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Passion for engineering and developing future talent.
- Commitment to learner success and high standards of teaching and learning.
- Understanding of safeguarding and student welfare.
Desirable

Experience of delivering Apprenticeship Standards.
- Experience teaching T Levels and/or full-time vocational programmes.
- Previous experience within Further Education or post-16 education.
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- Strong links with employers and industry.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completion of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
