Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety, and manage a team of kitchen staff. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage the kitchen team, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while respecting budget constraints.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and optimise costs.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in excellent condition and that health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Serve as a role model for professional conduct within the team, promoting teamwork and high standards of hospitality.
- Handle customer feedback related to food quality or service issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Demonstrable leadership ability with experience managing teams of chefs or kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate staff and liaise effectively with management and suppliers.
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant operations, or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
