Redrock Recruitment require a Pre-Construction Manager/Estimator for there client based in Bedfordshire working in the construction fitout, logistics & distribution, education arena.
We are looking for someone with construction experience whether within a main or sub contract background.

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring cost control measures are implemented effectively.
Duties:
- Make decisions on the suitability of materials, equipment, plant, and sub-contractors when creating a quotation
- Make decisions on the mark-up of a tender, balancing profit, and competitiveness.
- Analyse project drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
- Utilise cost estimation software and tools to generate precise project cost breakdowns
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality standards
- Monitor project expenses and implement cost control measures throughout the construction process
- Prepare and submit budget proposals and progress reports to management
- Review subcontractor quotes and negotiate pricing to achieve competitive bids
- Engaging with the CAD Technician to modify and create technical drawings.
- Monitoring, reviewing and tracking tender bids and liaising with the client to ensure feedback is received
Qualifications:
· HNC/HND in construction and the built environment and/or Certificate in Quantity surveying Practice
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using construction estimation software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable
