Dunbar Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Infant School in Aylesbury for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This rewarding role involves supporting a Year 1 pupil who is non-verbal and has ASD. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, develop communication skills, and thrive within the school environment.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with ASD.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs.
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly ASD.
- Experience working with non-verbal children or pupils with communication needs.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
