About the job
As EDI & Wellbeing Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping an inclusive, healthy and high-performing workplace that enables our people to thrive. You’ll lead the development and delivery of UKAEA’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and wellbeing strategies, ensuring they are embedded across the organisation and aligned with our People and Culture priorities.
Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll provide expert advice, influence organisational decision-making and use data and insight to drive continuous improvement. Leading a specialist team, you’ll ensure our approach to EDI and wellbeing remains compliant, evidence-based and supports UKAEA’s long-term ambitions.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of UKAEA’s EDI and wellbeing strategies.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable programmes, initiatives and action plans.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to leaders on EDI, wellbeing, governance and inclusive leadership.
- Develop and maintain policies, governance frameworks and standards that ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Use data, benchmarking and organisational insight to evaluate performance, identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the organisation’s approach to Equality Impact Assessments, employee networks and EDI governance forums.
- Partner with colleagues across People & Culture, Safety, Health & Environment and the wider business to embed inclusive practices.
- Develop organisational capability through learning, guidance and awareness initiatives.
- Produce high-quality reports and recommendations that inform strategic decision making.
- Lead, develop and support the EDI & Wellbeing team.
What you’ll bring
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, CIPD Level 7 (or working towards), or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience developing and delivering organisation-wide EDI, wellbeing or people strategies.
- Strong knowledge of equality legislation and experience ensuring organisational compliance.
- Experience developing policies, governance frameworks and organisational standards.
- Experience using data and insight to evaluate performance, inform strategy and drive improvement.
- Experience leading and developing a professional team.
