Job Description
Are you ready to take your expertise in aerospace repair engineering to the next level? Join ALTEN as a Senior Aero Repair Engineer and lead groundbreaking projects in the civil aerospace sector. You’ll work on advanced jet engine repair schemes, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards while driving innovation in repair methodologies like welding, brazing, and thermal spray. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and industrialisation of repair schemes for gas turbine engine components, ensuring compliance with EASA/FAA regulations and S1000D/STE technical publications.

Provide expert guidance on repair methodologies, including welding (TIG, laser), brazing, thermal spray, machining, and NDT techniques.

Review and approve repair documentation, such as work instructions, engineering drawings, and technical justifications.

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to align repair solutions with engine performance and lifecycle requirements.

Mentor junior engineers and trainees in repair processes, standards, and best practices.

Ensure all repair solutions meet airworthiness standards and are supported by robust technical justification and validation data.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.

10+ years’ experience in aerospace gas turbine engine repair, with a focus on civil engines.

Competent Author (CA) status (current or previously held) for repair approvals.

Strong knowledge of repair methods: welding (TIG, laser), brazing, thermal spray, machining, and NDT (FPI, MPI, Eddy Current).

Familiarity with technical standards: S1000D, STE, EASA Part-145, FAA regulations.

Experience with engine components: blades, vanes, discs, casings, combustors, and shafts.
Desirable Skills

Familiarity with repair manuals, engineering systems (Teamcenter, SAP), and digital tools for repair documentation.

Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma for process optimisation.

Project management skills (e.g., APMP, PMP, or Agile).

Knowledge of AI and automation toolsets, including Python and Azure Databricks.
