We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Lettings Team and support the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service.
About the Role
We have two vacancies one within our buys Lettings Team and one within our Rents team. As Housing Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the team, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, responsive, and customer-focused housing management service. You will provide effective leadership, support, and guidance to staff, creating a positive working environment and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellent customer service.
Working closely with the Housing Services Manager, you will play a key role in the development and improvement of the service, supporting the delivery of strategic objectives and ensuring that performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved. You will monitor team performance, analyse service information, and produce reports, identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the customer experience.
You will be responsible for supervising, developing, and supporting staff through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and training opportunities, ensuring the team has the skills and knowledge required to deliver a high-quality service. You will also ensure compliance with housing legislation, organisational policies, and procedures, maintaining high standards of service delivery and governance.
The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues across BCH, Council departments, and external partner agencies to deliver seamless services for tenants and applicants. You will also take a lead role in responding to complex enquiries, complaints, and elected member enquiries, demonstrating sound judgement, professionalism, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service and the ability to drive performance, develop people and contribute to the ongoing success of the Lettings Service.
The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:
· Significant experience of working with tenants within a social housing environment.
· Experience of multi-agency and partnership working
· Strong supervisory or management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
· Computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
· A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Experience working within housing services, local authority or housing association environments is desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements
· A minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
A supervisory or management qualification and a qualification in social care or housing would be beneficial.
