Carpenter Job Vacancy:
We are looking for a skilled Carpenter/Joiner to join our team, carrying out first and second fix carpentry across our projects as well as general labour tasks on-site. Duties include measuring, cutting, and fitting timber and other materials to produce high-quality finished work, alongside helping with general site duties as needed. The ideal candidate should be experienced, precise, and take pride in their craftsmanship, while also being willing to pitch in wherever help is needed. If you have a strong background in carpentry or joinery, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful Carpenter/Joiner will be able to work from drawings and specifications to deliver work to a high standard, on time and to budget, while supporting the wider team with general site tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out first fix work such as stud walls, joists, and roofing timbers
- Carry out second fix work such as doors, skirting, architrave, and staircases
- Measure, cut, and shape timber, wood products, and other materials accurately
- Install fitted furniture, kitchens, and bespoke joinery items
- Read and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Assist with general labour tasks such as moving and collecting materials, digging, lifting, and carrying
- Help with the setup and cleanup of worksites
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Check completed work for accuracy and quality, and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure work is coordinated and completed on schedule
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients regarding project progress
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter/Joiner, either site-based or workshop-based
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and building regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
- Willingness to help with general labour tasks and physically demanding work
- Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- A valid UK driver's license is required
- Willingness to travel for work where required
Pay: £100.00-£120.00 per day
