Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Hydraulic Service Repair Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in equipment maintenance and repair. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and restoring a wide range of hydraulic systems, pumps/motors & hydraulic valves. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of critical machinery across various industrial and heavy equipment sectors. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections, pressure testing, and diagnostics on hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, motors, and related fluid power machinery.
- Perform mechanical repairs, component replacements and preventive maintenance to ensure high-pressure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Follow technical manuals, and fluid power diagrams to accurately identify system faults and implement effective solutions.
- Lead maintenance and overhaul activities - coordinating with team members to complete tasks safely.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to hydraulic contamination, pressure drops, fluid leaks, and electro-hydraulic control systems.
- Document all repair activities meticulously, including detailed service reports on diagnostics, fluid cleanliness, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members, plant engineers, and clients to provide technical guidance, system optimization advice, or support as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical and fluid power knowledge with hands-on experience in hydraulic equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong ability to read and interpret hydraulic components, fluid power circuits, and engineering drawings if required - Training can also be given here.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising or guiding maintenance teams, field techs, or contractors.
- Experience working with high-pressure hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and actuators is required (BFPA/IFPS certifications or formal mechanical qualifications are a plus).
- Background in heavy machinery, manufacturing environments, construction, or industrial mobile equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive, safety-first approach to troubleshooting complex fluid power systems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while adhering strictly to site safety protocols and fluid contamination controls.
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
