Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join our setting at Nine Elms, teaching KS3. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging history lessons to students across various age groups, fostering a love for the subject, and supporting students’ academic growth. Duties
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive history lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Develop engaging lesson plans, activities, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking
- Mentor students to enhance their understanding of historical concepts and develop analytical skills
- Incorporate creative writing, journalism, and proofreading techniques into lesson activities to enrich learning experiences
- Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods accordingly
- Organise tutoring sessions for students requiring additional assistance in history or related subjects such as maths
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and organise school events related to history topics
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching or mentoring students in history or related subjects
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging students at various levels of ability
- Knowledge of special education practices and behaviour management techniques
- Creative writing, journalism, proofreading, organisational skills, and the ability to adapt lessons for different learning needs are highly desirable
- Experience in tutoring or supporting students in subjects such as maths is advantageous
- Passion for history and education with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Relevant qualifications in education or history are preferred but not essential for exceptional candidates
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to school community initiatives

Pay: £36,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
