The role is one which requires attention to detail, exemplary workmanship and stamina. The role is a pivotal position ensuring high levels of equipment availability and reliability. A hard working and flexible approach is required. The ability to work alone and within a team.
Area of Responsibility – The planned maintenance of the Impact Recycling plant and equipment.
Duties:
Safety
Ensure at all times you operate in a way which does not put at risk yourself, other personnel or equipment on site. Adhere to the appropriate Health and Safety rules associated with the shop floor and wear the appropriate supplied PPE.
Primary
Responsible for the smooth running and availability of the plant and equipment. You will ensure a high standard of safety, maintenance, high levels of availability and reliability. The candidate would ideally be someone who has attended an engineering course at college and wants to move into a maintenance department but also has the understanding that a “that will do attitude” is unacceptable. Working in a small team carrying out planned maintenance such as machine knife changes, visual inspections of drive system, condition of machinery and preparing parts and tools for specific maintenance tasks. Assist with machine improvement.
Secondary
Secondary activities will include:
· Identify and control parts and tools.
· Work on equipment and facility projects.
Impact Recycling has a history of putting junior maintenance staff through apprenticeships to become fully qualified, multi-skilled maintenance technicians. Such opportunities may become available to the candidate in this role, provided they have the right attitude and approach to their work.
Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour
