We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our projects team on a sub contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring brickwork structures with precision and craftsmanship. The majority of works are extensions, conversions and refurbs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your masonry expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to a variety of building projects. A strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency is essential to ensure the successful completion of each project.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to technical drawings and specifications
- Prepare surfaces and foundations prior to bricklaying work
- Mix mortar and ensure proper application for durability and aesthetic appeal
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to execute precise work
- Operate power tools including drills and saws safely and effectively
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, roofers, and welders to ensure seamless project progress
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently at all times
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and organising tools and materials efficiently
Skills
- Proficiency in bricklaying techniques with attention to detail
- Experience with masonry work across various materials
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Basic carpentry skills beneficial for framing or structural adjustments
- Knowledge of roofing techniques is advantageous for integrated construction projects
- Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on safety standards
- Good physical stamina for manual labour over extended periods
