Astravox Tech is looking for a Mobile Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for clients across multiple industries, working primarily with modern Android technologies while contributing to cross-platform mobile solutions where appropriate.
This is a remote, part-time position with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android architecture.
- Maintain and improve existing mobile applications.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate with designers and backend developers to deliver production-ready solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance.
- Follow Agile software development practices.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Android development using Kotlin.
- Strong experience with iOS using Swift.
- Good understanding of Jetpack Compose or Android UI frameworks.
- Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture or similar design patterns.
- Experience integrating REST APIs.
- Knowledge of Git and collaborative software development.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
The following skills are advantageous but not essential:
- Experience with iOS or cross-platform mobile development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working with Firebase services.
- Exposure to AI-powered applications or Large Language Model (LLM) integrations.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, data processing or analytics.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
