We are a small furniture manufacturing business specialising in bespoke reception desks and are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our workshop team.
Previous furniture-making or joinery experience would be useful, but it is not essential. We are happy to train the right person who is practical, hardworking and eager to learn.
The role will include:
- Building and assembling reception desks and other furniture
- Cutting, sanding and preparing MDF and other sheet materials
- Helping with spraying, painting and finishing
- General workshop duties and keeping the workspace organised
- Packing finished furniture ready for delivery
- Helping to load and unload furniture
- Travelling with us to deliver and install reception desks at customer premises
- Learning different furniture-making and finishing techniques
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and turns up on time
- Has a good work ethic and positive attitude
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Is willing and eager to learn
- Pays attention to detail
- Is comfortable using tools or willing to learn
- Can work independently as well as part of a small team
- Is physically capable of helping move and deliver furniture
Experience in joinery, furniture making, carpentry, spraying or similar work would be an advantage, but attitude and willingness to learn are more important to us than experience.
A driving licence would also be an advantage due to occasional customer deliveries.
This is a good opportunity for someone looking to learn furniture making and develop practical workshop skills while working on different bespoke projects.
