To assist in the safe and efficient manufacture of sheet and tubular steel products on site at priestly road. The range of products can vary but they will include school and office furniture, handrails for buses, products for vehicle conversions.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Production Your primary role will still be as a workshop labourer. This will include the following:
- Take instructions from order book and supervisor.
- Work cut lists from drawings
- Cutting steel stock to given dimensions
- Drill, de-burr and prepare steel
- Dress off finished product ready for painting
- Wrap/pack finished goods
Equipment To perform your duties you will need to be competent in the use of:
- Saws
- Drills
- Guillotine
- Folder
- Angle grinder
- Other general engineering tools
Health and safety
- Ensure that all work is being carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure that you use all of the appropriate safety equipment including gloves, goggles, welding screen, safety shoes and dust masks
