We are looking for a creative and practical Designer / Vinyl Graphics Operative to join our team. This is a varied hands-on role combining graphic design, vinyl production and application.
The successful candidate will take projects from initial design through to production and installation, producing high-quality graphics for vehicles, signage, windows, walls and other applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Create professional and creative artwork for signage, vehicle graphics and promotional/wayfinding displays
- Prepare artwork for print, cutting and production
- Use design software such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or similar
- Operate vinyl cutting and print/cut equipment
- Weed, tape and prepare vinyl graphics for application
- Accurately apply vinyl graphics to vehicles, windows, walls, signs and other surfaces
- Measure and position graphics accurately, ensuring a clean professional finish
- Prepare customer artwork, logos and designs for production
- Communicate with customers to understand their requirements
- Check finished work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain equipment and keep the production area clean and organised
- Work to deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Assist with general sign production and installation as required
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- at least 3 years Previous experience in graphic design, for signage and vinyl graphics
- Strong knowledge of vinyl application techniques
- Experience with vinyl cutters and/or print-and-cut equipment / versacam RIP software
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or similar design software
- A good eye for colour, layout, typography and detail
- The ability to work from customer briefs and turn ideas into finished artwork
- Excellent attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs
- A full driving licence would be advantageous
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is creative, reliable, enthusiastic and highly detail-focused, with pride in producing quality work.
You should be equally comfortable sitting at a computer creating artwork as you are working hands-on with vinyl, tools and installation.
Experience within the sign-making, vehicle graphics, print or display industry is highly desirable.
