Duties
- Conduct detailed site surveys to gather measurements, assess existing conditions, and identify potential challenges for upcoming projects
- Prepare precise cost estimates by analyzing material quantities, labor requirements, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive pre-construction plans
- Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate budgeting and resource planning
- Implement effective cost control strategies throughout the estimation process to maximize budget efficiency
- Assist in tendering processes by sourcing competitive bids from suppliers and subcontractors
- Document all survey findings and estimate details clearly for review and approval by senior management
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pre Construction Surveyor or Estimator within the construction or civil engineering sectors
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to accurately measure site conditions and translate findings into detailed estimates
- Proficiency in estimating software tools and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with diverse project stakeholders
- Familiarity with cost control principles and techniques to manage project budgets effectively
- Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude while managing multiple projects simultaneously
