About the Clinic
We are a growing private healthcare clinic providing high-quality, patient-focused healthcare services within a professional and welcoming environment.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised CQC Registered Manager to work alongside the Clinic Owner and share responsibility for the regulatory, governance and quality management of the service.
This is a flexible, part-time freelance opportunity and would suit an experienced Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Clinical Lead, Practice Manager or Clinic Manager who has a strong understanding of CQC requirements and experience working within a regulated healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the clinic remains safe, compliant, well-governed and inspection-ready, while supporting the continued development and improvement of the service.
The Role
As the CQC Registered Manager, you will work in partnership with the Clinic Owner to ensure that the clinic operates safely, effectively and in accordance with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and applicable healthcare legislation and professional standards.
You will provide experienced regulatory and governance oversight while working collaboratively with the Clinic Owner and clinical team.
This is not intended to be a full-time operational management role. The position is designed to provide experienced CQC leadership and oversight on a part-time basis, with responsibilities appropriately shared between the Registered Manager and Clinic Owner.
The successful candidate will need to be confident working independently, identifying areas requiring attention and providing constructive advice and challenge where necessary.

Person SpecificationEssential
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager, Deputy Registered Manager, Practice Manager, Clinic Manager, Clinical Lead or senior healthcare manager.
- IOSH Managing Safely training and certification.
- Strong experience within private healthcare, general practice, primary care, outpatient services or another regulated healthcare environment.
- Detailed working knowledge of CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards.
- Experience of preparing a healthcare service for a CQC inspection or assessment.
- Experience in clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention and control, complaints and incident management.
- Experience developing or maintaining healthcare policies and procedures.
- Experience with clinical/operational audits and quality improvement.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence working with clinicians, healthcare professionals, management and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of regulatory and governance responsibilities.
- A professional and constructive approach, with the confidence to identify and challenge areas of risk or non-compliance.

Working Arrangement

The exact number of hours and working pattern will be agreed based on the needs of the clinic and the candidate’s experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain appropriate oversight of the regulated service and be reasonably available to support regulatory, governance and compliance matters when required.
The role may include a combination of on-site attendance, remote governance work, policy/document review, audits and management meetings.
