Job Summary:
We want to make Vivid one of the most recognisable construction businesses on social media and we're looking for someone to help us do it.
We're not looking for a traditional marketing executive.
We're looking for a creator.
Someone who understands TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn. Someone who can walk onto one of our construction sites, spot something interesting, get people involved, film it, edit it and turn it into something people actually want to watch.
The Role:
You'll take a leading role in deciding what Vivid creates and how we show up online.
Some days you'll be on a London construction site filming.
Some days you'll be editing. Some days you'll be researching ideas, looking at what's performing online or planning the next content series.
And sometimes you'll spot something happening at Vivid and think:"There's a brilliant video in that."
That's exactly the instinct we're looking for.
You'll create short-form content for:
Instagram-,TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Linked
You'll film and edit content yourself, work with our people, develop recurring series and help build a recognisable Vivid style. But there's another side to this role.
We're not chasing followers for the sake of followers. Vivid is a business. We want lots of people to enjoy our content, but we particularly want the right people seeing it. That includes commercial directors, project directors, procurement teams, estimators and other decision-makers within the contractors and developers we want to work with.
So you'll also help us work out:
Who do we want to reach?
What content would interest them?
How do we get it in front of them?
That could involve LinkedIn, target-account research, organic distribution, employee amplification, paid social campaigns and retargeting. Ultimately, we want great content to create recognition, recognition to create relationships, and relationships to help create commercial opportunities.
You won't be expected to be a salesperson. But you should be interested in understanding how the business wins work and how content can help.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Film and edit social-first short-form video.
- Regularly visit Vivid projects across London.
- Find stories and content opportunities without waiting for someone to give you a brief.
- Get our decorators, supervisors, apprentices and managers involved in content.
- Develop hooks, concepts and recurring content series.
- Manage and develop our social content calendar.
- Publish and distribute content across our channels.
- Identify target companies and relevant decision-makers we want our content to reach.
- Help build target audiences using LinkedIn and tools such as Sales Navigator.
- Support targeted LinkedIn and Meta advertising.
- Look at what's performing and use the data to decide what we should make next.
- Help track whether social activity is creating new relationships and commercial opportunities.
- Capture project photography and other content when required.
- Constantly bring us new ideas.
Requirements:
- Can show us genuinely good short-form content they've created.
- Understands why some videos get watched and others get ignored.
- Can shoot and edit confidently themselves.
- Understands hooks, pacing, storytelling, humour and retention.
- Is comfortable approaching people and getting personality out of them.
- Has lots of ideas.
- Works quickly.
- Doesn't need constant direction.
- Understands the difference between content made for TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Is interested in the commercial side of social media as well as the creative side
- Has good judgement about what should — and shouldn't — be filmed or published.
Experience with paid social, LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, analytics, photography or design would be useful.
But we're much more interested in finding someone with exceptional creative instinct and the right attitude than ticking every box on a conventional job description.
What we DON'T want:
If your idea of social media is mainly corporate graphics, press releases and carefully worded LinkedIn announcements, this probably isn't the role for you.
We don't want someone waiting at a desk for management to tell them what to post.
We don't believe every 30-second video needs three days of editing and five rounds of approval.
We want to experiment.
Some things will work brilliantly.
Some won't.
We'll learn from both.
What you will get:
You'll have the equipment and software you need to do the job properly.
More importantly, you'll have access to a business with a large workforce, major London projects and a constant supply of potential content.
You'll also have genuine creative freedom.
We're hiring you because we want your ideas — not because we want someone to simply execute ours.
How to apply:
Your CV is not the most important part of your application.
We want to see what you can actually do.
Send us:
1. A little bit about yourself.
2. Links to three pieces of content you've created that you're particularly proud of.
Tell us what your involvement was in each one.
3. Pick one of those pieces and briefly tell us why you think it worked — or what you'd change if you made it again today.
4. Have a look at Vivid Finishes and give us one content idea you'd make if you joined us.
Don't spend hours preparing it.
We're more interested in your instinct than a polished presentation. If what you send us makes us think
we need to meet this person, we'll take it from there.
Pay: £42,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
