Nursery Chef / Cook — Bijou Day Nursery & Crèche (Cowbridge)
We are looking for a warm, organised and reliable Nursery Chef/Cook to join our friendly team at Bijou Day Nursery & Crèche.
This is a key role within the nursery, responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals for our children while maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards.
Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible working between 08:00 and 17:00
Key responsibilities
- Preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
- Managing dietary requirements, allergies and special menus safely
- Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment
- Following Safer Food Better Business (Vale of Glamorgan) procedures
- Supporting and maintaining our 5-star food hygiene rating
- Stock control, ordering and kitchen record keeping
Requirements
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (essential)
- Experience cooking in a nursery, school, care or similar setting preferred
- Good understanding of food allergens and cross-contamination controls
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- A positive and caring approach suitable for a childcare environment
