Job Title: Skilled Assembly Operative (Construction bias)
Location: Newport
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 3:00pm; Friday, 6:00am – 12:30pm working 40 hours a week
Salary: £13.73 per hour (there is bandings in place where you can earn quite alot more per hour)

Our client is a well-established and growing company within the steel industry, with exciting growth plans for 2026. They are currently looking to recruit motivated and reliable Assembly Technicians to join their manufacturing team.

As part of the assembly team, you will play an integral role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the assembly of steel products, operating equipment, carrying out quality checks, and supporting efficient production operations. Experience using power tools and reading 2D and 3D drawings is essential.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings
- Experience using power tools (e.g. drills, ratchet guns, grinders, torque wrenches)
- Experience using hand tools (e.g. spanners, screwdrivers)
- Comfortable with manual handling and occasional heavy lifting
- Previous experience assembling large panels, equipment, machinery, or construction components is desirable
- Basic computer skills are advantageous
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently using initiative
- Good awareness of health and safety practices
Working Pattern & Overtime
This role currently operates on a single shift pattern, with the potential to move to a double shift system in line with business needs. Overtime is required, typically on weekends and occasionally during weekdays.
