To carry out a range of production, blending, and chemical handling tasks safely and effectively in line with training received. The successful candidate will support day-to-day operational requirements while strictly adhering to chemical safety standards (COSHH/COMAH) to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to COSHH assessments and COMAH site safety regulations to ensure safe handling, storage, and containment of all chemical materials.
- Safety Protocols: Maintain a safe working environment by actively monitoring work areas, using designated PPE, and following established site safety procedures.
- Reporting: Promptly report any accidents, near misses, chemical spills, hazards, or unsafe practices to a supervisor or manager.
- Policy Adherence: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Chemical & Production Operations
- Product Blending: Support day-to-day production activities, including the safe blending and mixing of various chemical products according to batch instructions.
- Bulk Transfers: Assist in the transfer of liquid materials, including the safe discharging of bulk road tankers and the decanting of chemicals into smaller containment (IBCs, drums, or pails) as per SOPs.
- Safe Handling: Execute raw material additions and chemical handling tasks with a high degree of precision, minimising the risk of exposure, splashing, or cross-contamination.
Site Housekeeping & Standards
- Housekeeping: Ensure chemical storage areas, bunds, and production lines are kept clean, organised, and hazard-free, promoting a high standard of site housekeeping at all times.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and contribute to opportunities for improving safety, efficiency, and environmental controls on site.
Teamwork, Communication & Training
- Teamwork: Work effectively as part of an operational team, following instructions from the Site Supervisor and coordinating with colleagues.
- Communication: Communicate any operational issues, plant defects, or safety suggestions clearly and respectfully with management.
- Development: Attend mandatory training sessions, courses, or workshops as required for the role (including safety and chemical handling updates).
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties assigned by Management to support site operations.
Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
