GMC Gas Services Ltd is a family-run plumbing and heating company based in Glasgow.
Since 2019, we have built a strong reputation for providing a reliable, professional and high-quality service to homeowners and landlords across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Our business has grown rapidly through repeat customers, recommendations and the quality of the work we provide. Due to our continued growth and increasing workload, we're looking for an experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our team.
We're not looking for someone simply to get through as many jobs as possible. We're looking for an experienced engineer who takes genuine pride in their work, looks after our customers and wants to become an important part of a growing company.
The Role
This is a varied domestic plumbing, heating and gas role covering Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Boiler installations
- Boiler servicing
- Boiler breakdowns and repairs
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Landlord gas safety checks
- Unvented cylinder installations
- Heating system repairs and maintenance
- General plumbing repairs and maintenance
You will be trusted to work independently and manage your jobs professionally, while also working alongside other members of the GMC team when required.
Quality Is Important to Us
A major part of this position is carrying out high-quality boiler installations.
We have built our reputation on the standard of our work, and we expect installations to be completed properly, neatly and professionally.
That means taking pride in the full job — from system preparation and pipework through to installation, commissioning, testing and leaving the customer's property clean and tidy.
Quality comes before speed.
We're not interested in rushed installations or cutting corners to get onto the next job. We want engineers who can stand back at the end of an installation and be proud to put their name to it.
The same standard applies whether you're carrying out a full boiler installation, diagnosing a fault, completing a service or attending a small plumbing repair.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're looking for an experienced engineer who is confident in their own ability and comfortable working across all aspects of domestic plumbing and heating.
You must have:
- At least 5 years' experience as a Plumbing & Heating Engineer
- Current and relevant Gas ACS qualifications
- Strong knowledge of domestic gas, plumbing and heating systems
- Experience carrying out high-quality boiler installations
- Good boiler servicing, repair and fault-finding ability
- A high standard of plumbing and pipework
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work confidently on your own
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A professional and reliable attitude
- A full UK driving licence
We're particularly interested in engineers who take ownership of their jobs, solve problems properly and care about the customer's experience as much as the technical side of the work.
Some flexibility is required. During particularly busy periods of the year, occasional later finishes and weekend work may be necessary.
Salary & Performance Bonuses
We want experienced engineers to be properly rewarded for good work.
The package includes:
- £36,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience
- £50 bonus for every boiler installation completed to our required quality standard
- £10 bonus for every customer review
- Potential earnings of £40,000–£44,000+
Our engineers typically carry out around 70 boiler installations per year, which means the boiler installation bonus alone can be worth approximately £3,500 per year, before customer review bonuses.
The bonus is there to reward quality work and good customer service — not rushed installations.
