We are looking for a skilled Paint Prepper to support our paint and finishing operations in our busy body shop at North Weald, CM16 6HR.
You will be responsible for preparing repaired vehicles for refinishing and assisting Paint Technicians with their work.
The desire to work quickly, consistently and as part of a team is of the utmost importance.
The role is Monday to Friday, salary negotiable, 20 days holiday + the usual English Bank Holidays, Pension, on-site parking.
Main duties will include:
o Assist Paint Technicians by preparing vehicles & parts for painting.
o Remove grease, dirt, paint from surfaces in preparation for paint application.
o Apply film and masking tape to protect non-painted surfaces.
o Work with paint team to keep all vehicles on schedule.
o Maintain all tools/equipment and keep workspace clean.
o Help with general maintenance of paint booths.
o Ensure all H&S equipment is used and follow proper finishing procedures in compliance with current safety guidelines.
Person Specification:
o Drive and passion to deliver high quality results.
o Previous paint-prep experience is required – sanding, masking, prepping & blending in a high-volume accident repair environment.
o Previous automotive painting and refinishing process experience is required.
o Work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
o Able to work to agreed timescales, whilst adhering to H&S at all times.
o Keep your work area clean & tidy at all times.

Pay: £33,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
