Marketing Apprentice

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Senior Marketing & PR Project Manager
About Us
Green Lane Masjid & Community Centre (GLMCC) has been serving the Birmingham community since 1979. Based in our award-winning Grade II listed Victorian building, we are one of the UK's leading mosques, inspiring, educating and serving the community through our educational college, outreach programmes, welfare services, youth work, international humanitarian projects and our fully operational mosque, which welcomes thousands of visitors each week.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to begin a career in marketing. As a Marketing Apprentice, you will work closely with the Marketing & PR team, gaining practical experience across digital marketing, social media, content creation, events promotion and communications while working towards a nationally recognised Marketing qualification.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media & Digital Marketing
- Assist with creating, scheduling and publishing social media content.
- Support the maintenance and updating of the organisation's website.
- Monitor social media engagement and prepare basic performance reports.
- Help grow GLMCC's online presence across digital platforms.
Marketing & Content Creation
- Support the creation of marketing materials including posters, leaflets, presentations and digital content.
- Assist with photography and videography at events where required.
- Help ensure all marketing content is accurate, engaging and aligned with the organisation's brand.
Campaigns & Events
- Assist with email marketing campaigns and communications.
- Support the promotion of events, educational courses and fundraising campaigns.
- Carry out market and competitor research to identify new marketing opportunities.
- Work with different departments across the organisation to support their marketing requirements.
Administration
- Maintain marketing databases and contact lists.
- Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & PR team.
- Complete all apprenticeship training and coursework as required.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE English – Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE Maths – Grade 4/C or above
