Many of these are small, well-resourced therapeutic settings where the same faces return week after week because the homes—and the young people in them—ask for us by name.
Overview
We are seeking experienced staff skilled in trauma-informed care and crisis de-escalation to work with our clients. These roles offer flexibility for staff seeking to choose their own shifts.
What You’ll Be Doing on Assignment
- Providing safe, consistent, trauma-informed care to children and young people across a range of residential settings.
- Using de-escalation and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) techniques to manage crisis situations calmly and safely.
- Delivering key work sessions and following each home’s existing care and placement plans.
- Completing accurate, Ofsted-compliant daily records and handovers at each placement.
- Adapting quickly and professionally to different homes, teams, and routines.
- Covering ad-hoc shifts at short notice, planned shifts in advance, or regular block-bookings with the same home.
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- Minimum 6 months’ verifiable experience in a children’s residential, semi-independent accommodation, or similar therapeutic setting.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- A genuinely calm, resilient approach to crisis situations and challenging behaviour.
- Reliability — our clients depend on us to send people who actually show up.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Crisis intervention training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE).
- Own transport for cross-site flexibility.
