Chef / Cook
About the Role
We are a busy, family-run hotel serving high-quality, cooked-to-order dishes in our popular café lounge. As we continue to grow and enhance our food offering, we are looking for a creative, organised and hardworking Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare, cook and present café menu items to a consistently high standard
- Ensure quality, consistency and timely service during busy periods
Menu Development
- Contribute new ideas to expand and enhance our breakfast and lunch offerings
- Assist in developing and refining recipes
Kitchen Operations
- Support stock control, inventory checks and ordering
- Minimise waste and maintain cost awareness
Health & Safety Compliance
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Ensure full compliance with current health and safety regulations
Kitchen Maintenance
- Keep all kitchen and storage areas clean, organised and fully compliant
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ professional kitchen experience (essential)
- Strong organisational skills and a solid work ethic
- Creative flair and a passion for quality food
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends on a rotating schedule

Location Requirement
Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Annan or plan to relocate prior to starting.
