Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Room Leader to oversee and support early childhood education within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's development while working within a professional and supportive team.
Hours of Work
32 hours per week between Monday to Friday 7.45am to 5.30pm with a 4.30pm finish if working on a Friday
Duties
- Lead and supervise a designated group of children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental progress
- Plan, organise, and implement engaging educational activities tailored to the children's individual needs
- Support and mentor junior staff members, promoting best practices in childcare and early childhood education
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behaviour
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's development and daily activities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery procedures
- Assist in the organisation of nursery routines, including meal times, nap times, and play periods
- Drive company vehicles when necessary for outings or errands
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of early years practitioners
- Extensive experience working with children in childcare settings; nursery experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator) or equivalent
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive company vehicles safely
- Passionate about child development and creating a positive learning atmosphere
Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
