Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, be able to work effectively under supervision, and support the culinary team in delivering excellent service. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided. Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout service
- Organising and storing crockery, cutlery, and kitchen supplies efficiently
- Supporting the culinary team with ingredient replenishment and stock organisation
- Ensuring waste disposal is handled correctly and recycling procedures are followed
- Assisting with general cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is a plus
- Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety
- Willingness to learn new skills and support team members as needed
