Willow Green Surgery is seeking a positive, caring and self-motivated General Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive Clinical Team on a fixed-term basis until the end of March 2027
There may be the potential for extension, subject to service needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic GP to work within a forward-thinking practice committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
The role is for 4 sessions per week, working Monday & Thursday.
Main Duties of the Role
The post-holder will provide a high standard of clinical care to the practice population, including:
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations for both routine and urgent care
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing patient conditions
- Reviewing investigations and test results, and developing appropriate care plans
- Making referrals to secondary care and other services where appropriate
- Issuing and signing repeat prescriptions in line with national and local guidelines
- Managing patient queries, referral letters and other administrative tasks in a timely manner
- Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne
- Prescribing safely and effectively within local and national guidance (including NICE guidelines)
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care
- Participating in MDT meetings and care planning discussions
- Undertaking on-call duties if required
Health Promotion & Professional Development
- Supporting patients in lifestyle modification and preventative health strategies
- Contributing to anticipatory care planning
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of clinical practice and engaging in continuous professional development
- Participating in mandatory training and practice educational activities
- Supporting and advising colleagues where appropriate
Governance, Safety & Compliance
- Adhering to practice policies on confidentiality, data protection and prescribing
- Ensuring safe, evidence-based and cost-effective care
- Participating in clinical governance activities including audits, peer review and significant event analysis
- Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control
- Ensuring patient and carer confidentiality at all times
