About the Role
Join our dynamic team as Finance Assistant, where your primary focus is to support all aspects of project accounting across the business. You will work with our operational teams to ensure that costs are captured, and revenue recognised in alignment with our commercial contracts. You will provide commentary on variances to budget and forecast and have inputs to the forecast process. The successful candidate will be working at a junior level supporting a finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for career growth and development within commercial finance.
The successful candidate will be based at TRL Headquarters in Wokingham in Berkshire, and we welcome flexible and hybrid working arrangements. The post holder should expect to attend the Wokingham office at least once a week (more often if required).
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Month end reporting- Provide month end variance analysis and commentary
- Use our ERP systems and forecasting tools to ensure revenue recognition processes and invoices are compliant to contracts
- Support the Accounts Receivable team in raising invoices as and when required
- Provide financial analysis to support the forecast and budgeting process
Skills & Experience
Essential requirements
- Proven experience of operating at a junior level supporting a finance team.
- Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach
- A willingness for personal development and growth within the role
Desirable
- Part-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA) would be advantageous
- Previous experience of using Maconomy would be an advantage
